Championship Recap - Women
St. Thomas became the first team in MIAC women's golf history to win seven championships in a row when it pulled away from Gustavus to claim the 2007 title at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids. After tying a conference record with a 316 Sunday, the Tommies posted a 329 team score Monday to finish with a three-round total of 967. Gustavus placed second with a 986 team score and St. Olaf placed third with a 1023.
St. Thomas led the Gusties by six strokes going into today's final round and pulled away to win by a safe 19 strokes.
Laura Heck of UST walked away with medalist honors, posting rounds of 76, 77 and 77 for a 230, eight strokes ahead of teammate and runner-up Holly Noble, last year's MIAC champ. Rachel Roberg of Gustavus placed third with a 242 and St. Olaf's Britta Hendrickson took fourth with a 243.

Championship Recap - Men
Gustavus entered the third and final round trailing Saint John's by five strokes, but easily passed the Johnnies with a 288 team score to win the MIAC Men's Golf Championship at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.
The Gusties finished with an 880 team score, while the Johnnies finished with an 892. St. Thomas (911) held off a hard-charging St. Olaf (914) for third place.
Led by individual medalist Ajeetesh Sandhu, the Gusties ended SJU's three-year run as conference champs. Sandhu shot a 72 in windy conditions after scores of 74 and 71 the first two rounds. Sandhu's three-day score of 217 edged Joe Schoolmeesters of Saint John's by two strokes for top individual honors. Schoolmeesters, last year's MIAC medalist, shot a low for the day 71 Monday, but could not catch Sandhu.
Four players tied for third place with marks of 221: John Traecy and Ben Jensen of St. Thomas, and Jordan Hawkinson and Eric Harris of Gustavus.
